Rhyolite Recline" is a larger mixed media using the encaustic (wax and pigment) on archival/acid free stock. Here I used the same model as in "Silver Leaf Recline".
Three years ago, in a major east coast invitational exhibition this piece won 1st in its category, the following year my work "Remembering the 70's" (also an encaustic and attached below, sold) was acknowledged as Best in Show.
This nude is more subdued in overall coloration and contrast compared to "Silver leaf Recline". My favorite part is the diagonal run or movement of paint that crosses her lower legs, and the handling of coloration in her upper torso. Move in for close-ups of the surface. The presentation is an off white linen mat built up off the surface of the painting.
The mat measures 5" top and sides with 5 1/2" bottom mat. The frame is a wooden mahogany look distressed surface. The front profile measures 1 1/4" and the projection from the wall is 1 1/2". The front also has a double row of antique gold finished beading. The frame does not overpower the piece, but allows for it to make a wonderful statement in any decor.
Image size exposed through the opening in the mat is approximately 18" x 28 1/2". The overall frame size is 31" x 40 1/2".
All my Fine Art is professionally packaged for shipping.
I believe you will truly enjoy this piece, Nancy
