Artspan Launches Innovative Print-on-Demand Feature Enabling Artists to Sell Prints Directly from Their Individual Sites
Lambertville, NJ, January 10, 2010 Artspan, the leading provider of individual artist, artisan and photographer websites, today announced the launch of its innovative Print-on-Demand function, enabling artists to sell prints directly from their individual web sites. Artspan is a major portal to the world of contemporary art, featuring more than 3,200 artist web sites in 18 different categories, including painters, photographers, jewelers and sculptors, among many others.
What makes the Artspan Print-on-Demand program different from any other online prints offerings is that the prints are sold directly from a members own site, said Eric Sparre, Founder and Managing Director of Artspan. Members can send buyers to their site and they will not be distracted by offers from other sellers.
At the members option, the Print-on-Demand feature enables visitors to member web sites to click on an image and then size, mat and frame it. The print will be shipped directly to the buyer. The Artspan member is the seller, not Artspan.
Artspan members are not just another seller for xyz.com, Sparre added. No one else offers this capability to its members.
The addition of the Print-on-Demand feature is the next step in Artspans continuing mission to put power in the hands of the artists through the self-managed web sites. Recent updates have included the addition of individual site shopping cart functionality, sales and marketing tips for artists and monthly-featured member sites. Artspan can be visited at www.artspan.com.
Founded in 1999 by painter and entrepreneur Eric Sparre, Artspan members include artists from around the country and the world. Artspan member sites have their own domain names and are also accessible through the keywords and categories searches at www.artspan.com. Member sites can also be found in the Artspan Directories by aphabetical, regional and category/subcategory searches. In addition, Artspan.com features an Art Forum, an Art Calendar, and the Portals, which serve as gateways to distinct genres, media and regions.
