I had the fabulous opportunity to stretch myself way beyond my comfort level and discovered great healing and gratitude from the process. Many loved ones at the time of the making of this project were ill. Time spent in my studio working on this challenging project became my time of solace as well as my artistic joy.
As an artist, I strive to find the beauty in that which has been cast aside. It's a constant reminder to me that one person’s discards can be transformed into treasure. By demonstrating to visitors that something traditionally cast aside can be manipulated is, to me, the magic of the artist. When better to make this come to life than with the kick-off project of my community's Hopewell Valley Arts Council?
I am proud to share that Splendor In The Glass won the People's Vote/2nd Place and resides in a private collection in Hopewell Township, New Jersey. So enjoyed this project - commission on similar project welcome!
