I am still asleep as the sun, still hidden below the horizon, begins to lighten the sky. The soothing blue light signals the arrival of the day but it does not awaken me. In another moment, I will remember what I was finally able to forget during the night. The hands of the clock will begin to move again, timelines and deadlines resuming their countdowns, regrets and fears reclaiming their place in the shadows of my heart. But for a few moments, under this peaceful cerulean sky, there is time to enter into one more dream before the sun comes up in earnest. When I awaken this will be the only dream that I remember. It will seem to have lasted for the entire night. And it will be a dream about a memory of an empty street, under a gentle blue sky, in the diffuse light of dawn just before sunrise.
