2006 FLORIDA MEMORIAL COLLEGE, MIAMI, FL BRONZE-9FT This nine foot bronze sculpture is in the lobby of the Lou Rawls Performing Art Center located at Florida Memorial University, one of the oldest African American academic centers in Florida. The music notes flanking the front of the sculpture are those of the historical National Negro Anthem, “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing”, written by James W. Johnson and J. Rosamond Johnson and performed originally in 1900 by Florida Memorial College students.
