I did this from photos I took in Venice. I was besotted with the place, couldn't sleep from excitement of what I was going to see the next day. :) I took hundreds of photos and the one I took of this famous bridge was one of them. Ponte di Sospiri ( Bridge of Sighs) draws tourists from the world over; it is said the guards from the prison which adjoins the bridge ( this would be the part in deep purple shadow on the right) would march the prisoners through the bridge each day to give them exercise, and their lovers and wives would stand on the facing bridge to see if they could catch a glimpse of their beloved, hence the many sighs. :) Hoping this says "Italy" to you, I painted it with so much love.
