Autumn on Big Laurel

There are some dilapidated buildings on the road from Konnarock to Troutdale, Virginia, just above a log church. It is known as the Big Laurel Road or Fairwood Road. This is near Mount Rogers and Whitetop Mountain that are the highest peak and second highest peak in Virginia in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is no exaggeration do say this is the most inhabitable area on earth. We who live here are fortunate. These buildings are near an old barn that is also overgrown. The leaves have mostly fallen off the sumac trees leaving the large red seed pods.
