I painted this -- using my hands -- during an opening reception for an art show at Catherine Bede Gallery in Hillsboro, Oregon. The gallery at the time was postage stamp small, so I set up in the exterior hallway. So many kind, friendly, and interested people stopped to chat about what I was doing .... "Painting with your hands!?!" It was fun but also a bit nerve-wracking since I normally paint in silence, alone in my studio. Once again, the mood and energy of the room permeated the piece.
"And Then My Head Exploded is featured in "Lunch Ticket" Winter/Spring 2018, from Antioch University, Los Angeles.
It was created on a cradled plywood board using acrylic paint, oil pastels and pencil.
