"It was a long journey, full of trials and tribulations, but there was always mysterious help when she was most in need. Being a fairy tale, of course it all ends happily." But there could be another story here...what do you see? Inspired by the Grimm's fairy tale, "The Girl with Silver Hands," also known as "The Handless Maiden." This original painting was also licensed for the cover of a scholarly treatise based on elements in the Grimm's fairy tales, "Disability, Deformity, and Disease in the Grimm's Fairy Tales" by Ann Schmiesing © 2014.
