18 x 24 inches, acrylics on cradled wooden board Part of the " Textures" series. Quail is one of my favorite birds to paint. You can see these little creatures everywhere in the desert, always running, always busy. In this painting I wanted to depict the quail like a royalty in a classic portrait from the 17th century- majestic, proud and vain. Like in all works in my "Textures" series abstract and realistic elements are playing an equal role in the composition.
