Millstone is one in a four-part series by Kim Keelor titled Common Journey.
"This four-piece series represents a journey that I have observed is common to many. For me, it is one that I have experienced in my work as an artist, in this particular order:
• Millstone – a thought or seemingly insurmountable challenge hanging over one’s head.
• Interference – someone or something that is preventing the millstone from being overcome.
• Rebellion – defying the interfering circumstance.
• Watershed – the rush of that moment of passage and relief stemming from the surety that one is moving in the right direction, earned through tenacity and independence."
