What does it really mean to be at the center of things? This piece was painted several years ago when I was disturbed by all the division in our country and even the world. It seemed that race or religion divided us—perhaps has always divided us or made us distrustful of one another. It was the “they aren’t like us” attitude.
Now almost three years later, this painting has even more relevance—for finding out what really is most important to all of us, what it is that we have in common as humans.
