I wanted to paint a smaller painting as part of my Abstracted Pop series, and I was stuck for a starting point. I like painting lemons and I so I painted lemons. David Salle in his book "How to See" said in speaking of Lichtenstein wrote "...but those decisions are in fact made at the end of a brush." This painting certainly evolved this way...I had 2 friends buy a Tesla because of a price decrease, my wife has a purple iPhone, I just bought PXG golf clubs, and I live at the beach. We all have a "logoization of our lives" and in our consumer culture we aren't in much a different place than the pop arts of the fifties and sixties.
