The Magic of Jedidiah Redwoods
I have visited Jedidiah Smith Redwoods State Park several times as it is an easy stop on the way from Grants Pass Oregon and Cresent City California. On one of my stops there I set up and did some plein air painting. I did some watercolor studies that day. I went back to the studio and painted a nice big oil painting from those studies. This pastel is a painting of all of those other studies and it makes me feel like I am right back there painting in the redwoods. It just makes me happy and peaceful to look at it!
