Homestead

This painting feels like you are on top of the world overlooking the mountains as far as the eyes can see. It somehow reminds me of my grandparents old homestead in Boulder Creek. Nothing remains of our family there except an old foundation and some chips of pottery, being abandoned many years ago for a place in town. I like to imagine that it looked much like this painting when our family first arrived there.

This is a pastel painting on sanded paper.
