Ideas Hatching

Here I apply the metaphor of the gestation process from the conception of an idea to its hatching.

Made with clay, a discarded book, eggshells and color pencils. The eggshells are hardened with substance so they are not as fragile as one might think.

Made with clay and an altered discarded book. The figure is permanently attached. The book are securely mounted on a 18" x 24" x 1.5” wood panel. Wall hanging. All ready; wire at the back. I signed and dated it 2023. Please enlarge the pictures to see the details.

Overall dimension: Roughly 24" wide x 18” tall x about 5" deep.

Shipping: This is an oversized piece. Please note that all my work requires special packing and handling.

Please note that although I coated the piece with UV resistant chemicals, yellowing of the pages may occur over time. It is part of the art.

Note: to get rid of dust, use a hairdryer with NO HEAT. Or, a clean, dry brush will work

Thanks for looking.
