At a spiritual retreat at Still Meadow Retreat Center in Oregon, I took a break and walked alone on a drizzly early winter day. The crows were making a lot of noise and I could see them in an apple tree. They were feasting on the remaining winter apples, a stunning red black and gray picture in my mind.
