Cowshed Falls is a picturesque waterfall in Fillmore Glen State Park, NY. This plein air painting, started on site, was finished in my studio. There was only a trickle of water when I painted it. I had to 'create' abundant water based on photos of the way in which it fell around boulders! It is said that cattle used to walk up the glen in hot weather to shelter in the cool shadows under the overhanging ledge -- hence "Cowshed."
