"Hanuman and the Arrested Development"

Description

Hanuman is depicted here as if arrested. This collage of a monkey god puppet is superimposed over appropriated text concerning the moment of consciousness and in the text is the interjection of bible verses in which the Christian god punishes mankind or his followers for various infractions. The LED lights attract the viewer as he contemplates the text. Hanuman is a fighter for justice and equality. I wanted the image to be more than "black lives matter', implying that throughout the world there is abuse of power by various institutions.
