My paintings are an amalgamation of impressions and memories of places I’ve seen. Most often, they reflect my love of color, shape and texture in nature and the earth’s geology. The work depicts the forces at play within the earth, as it slips and slides, breaks and uplifts, or is concerned with surface patterns in water, plants and trees, or landform shapes. Surface textures evocative of rust, sand or lichen sometimes appear. I’m fascinated by our world’s continuous flux, breakdown and reshaping.
