Jeff Sartain
My work primarily reflects my relationship with the elements of nature and the cultural connections that are displayed through the use of symbol, design, and the ever present "spirit of place". I make use of a wide array of materials that might include plaster, stone, abalone shell, antler, hammered copper, gold leaf, yucca and other regional woods or fibers. My aim is to paint, shape or arrange any items of interest into a harmonious composition that often highlights the rustic elegance of the Southwest and northern Mexico.
