Annette studied art at LSU, Louisiana; The Otis College of Art, LA, California, and in Rome, Italy. She was able to paint the occasional commission while working in Newspaper Publishing, but after 30 years needed a change. Family and a need to settle brought her to her present place where she now has the pleasure to draw and paint full-time. She has had several successful shows in the Spartanburg Artists Guild Gallery, the Guild’s Annual Juried Show, Cleveland County Arts Council, The Masur Museum in Monroe, LA, Hilton Head Art League Juried Show, Tyron Painters & Sculptors, and Upstairs Artspace in Tryon, NC. In addition, she has been accepted into several exhibitions including the following:
5” x 5” Small Works Show, Target Gallery, Torpedo Factory Art Center, Alexandria, VA
Upstate Book Project, Hub-Bub, Spartanburg, SC
Carolina’s Got Art, Charlotte, NC
She works in acrylic and oils, pen and ink, and pencil. Current projects involve the use of oils, acrylic inks and paint, watercolor, and liquid graphite while using sgrafitto techniques. Her subjects are distorted figures based on narratives built around family history and are meant to display the range of human emotions that connect us all.
