Eve Ozer
I entered this world in a rebellious state of mind. I am a German born, Chicago based painter. I immigrated, with my family, to the United States at the age of nine. My mother would describe me as a willful child. I attribute this independent spirit to my creative nature. Scraps of paper and a pencil were my first tools. Through independent study and multiple workshops, I found my niche in mixed media painting. In addition to that pencil, I work in charcoal, graphite, pastel, acrylic, oil, cold wax, sand, marble dust, molding paste and joint compound. I enjoy using unconventional tools such as silicone scrapers, old credit cards and fallen branches. Some of my more interesting marks are made with sticks and weeds I find walking around my neighborhood. After 37 years in the corporate world, today I am living a life I love, spending my days in my studio. My other passions include my family, our two Cavalier King Charles spaniels, gardening, cooking, walking, sitting in silence and reading.
