Adoni

Description

Solid lead free Brittania Pewter on Black Onyx Marble Base 6"wx15"h Artist Statement: Human form in the flesh transcends from hot molten metal into cold, smooth reflections. Capturing light and shapes from it’s surroundings, forever changing with the environment, a chameleon of my mind. Warwick Museum of Art 29th Open Juried Competition 2015 "Adoni" won Honorable Mention Warwick Museum of Art. Judge Francoise McAree Remarks: "This piece was a very accomplished work. It had this material transformative quality-like it was almost liquid. It also had a tortured feel to it-like the work of Max Beckman or Soutine...it wasn't a body builder idealized depiction of the human form, but an interpretation with the way the flesh was depicted and then seeing into what looks like the stomach cavity. There was a lot of tension and emotion in it, which was very powerful." Featured Newport Daily News Article 2015
