Veiled in Green II

On every hike, on so many trails in the Blue Ridge and Smokies, I always wonder: how many people in my lifetime have seen this same trail, this same stream, this same rock outcropping, this same community of trees all veiled in green. The forest and hills are such sublime but complex places. They remain the same, and yet somehow everyone sees something different. My abstract landscapes pay respect to and visually interpret these beautiful, powerful spaces in nature.

To see a landscape, a viewer
Assembles parts, adds trees to the rocks,
Reconciles their battle with roots,
Turns the boundaries of fences
Into the blanket stitch of the one
Piece.
