Waiting Offshore

"Waiting Offshore" is an abstract expressionist work that was created using a variety of materials. The canvas was coated with gesso with sand. Portions of the canvas were built up with molding paste. The swirling, multi-colored paint included oil paint, house paint, aluminum paint and gold spray paint. Paint was applied by brush, brayer, palette knives and sprayed. The title leads the viewer to making their own decision on the subject matter...is it a storm intensifying or is boats waiting to unload or are there other meanings. It is signed on the side and reverse.
