Welcome to 2016! Our resolution here at Artspan is to help you build your career! We're going to show your art in Collections, Group Shows and Articles. We're going to be sharing your work on every social media platform. And we're going to help you make your site as attractive and SEO-friendly as we can.

We got a lot done this past year - a new, product pages for all work that is for sale, new responsive template designs, and a totally rethought and redesigned Control Panel. These were only the most visible achievements of what was accomplished. 2016 will be just as busy. January will see the introduction of a few completely new templates - the first of a series. We will be converting into a more user-friendly ecommerce platform and we expect to do more to reach art consultants and interior designers - particularly the former with their ability to buy many works of art as they work with new hospitals, office buildings, hotels and the like.

We see our role as partnering with artists, so we need to hear back from you. Any thoughts as to what we should be focused on? What could most help you? We would also love you to spend some time with your website. There is so much you can do to maximize the exposure of your art. Start by making it responsive, if it isn't already. Half of all web traffic now comes from tablets and phones. You can do that by going to your Control Panel and clicking on any one of the Themes shown (you can always change later with a click of the mouse). Then go into Custom to choose Layout Options, /Gallery Display Options and then Customize and Preview for all the other elements. It's simple. You can finish in a few minutes or you can spend more time fine-tuning the website elements.

Website Makeover

Welcome to Artspan’s new Website Makeover! Each month we’re going to choose one site to spruce up. Working with the artist, we’re going to update the design of the site, and we’re going to do a little work behind the scenes to improve SEO. We’re going to share the process so that you can see how easy it is to use our design tools, and to inspire you to keep your own site as beautiful as it can be. If you’d like us to consider your site for a design makeover, which will be featured on our blog, in our newsletter, and on social media, contact [email protected]

This month's installment features the site of photographer Karen Callan. Check out the before, after, and in
