New World

Description

This painting started out as an abstract study in gray. I had worked on it for quite a while, when one day lightning & clouds began to appear on my canvas. Next, a fight between the sharp bright lightning points and the darker soft clouds started to evolve. It made me think of dark times, when things have been going poorly in my life, and then I have a breakthrough, and my life changes & I am awakened with a newer, more positive feeling, and it's a new world, if you will. Actually, to be truthful, the world is still the same old place; it is my attitude toward it that has changed. I liked the way the work turned out and was glad that I let the art take me where it wanted to go. The painting was done with only 3 paint colors: white, black, and taupe. This huge piece (5' high & 6' wide) is gallery wrapped with deep, black painted sides. Sold. Private collection in Flat Rock, NC. Thanks for your interest in my art. Adonna
