Glowing Peony

I get lots of photos from family and friends. Most of the time I can't use them because of lighting or shadows or I just can't do anything with the composition. This particular Peony was just right. I moved around some leaves and added a few petals from other photos. I love the way the light lays gently on the petals. It creates a gentle and soft glow.
I love painting in watercolors. I love the way the colors glow through each layer and fill with light, like stained glass.

All my watercolor paintings are painted on Arches 300# cold-pressed, bright white watercolor paper. Arches paper is archival and acid-free. I use M. Graham and Winsor and Newton's professional watercolor paints. My colors are permanent and archival and will not fade or change color! I will never paint with fugitive colors no matter how beautiful or vibrant they are. It is important to me that my paintings will last a lifetime and beyond with the proper care and attention.
