Restless Buck

Pronghorn- Not a true Antelope but the only present representative of a distinct family of ruminants alive in the Pleistocene age. Once so numerous millions covered their range that included S. Alberta, Saskatchewan, the western states between the Missouri river and the Pacific coast and New Mexico. Today about 100,000 cover only part of their original range. When alarmed they flair their white rump patches in warning, which can be detected several hundred yards away.
