Historically, the Lakota began to use the flag in their beadwork as a symbol of safety and compliance and that they were no longer a threat, but a peaceful people. Beaded utilizing the Lakota Lazy stitch, with the beads directly on a traditional brain tanned/smoked deer hide. The fringe is beautifully twisted for a added embellishments. The back of the bag is beaded exactly the same as the front of the bag.
