The "Porthole"

Original framed oil painting on 1.5 inch thick gallery wrapped canvas. The "Porthole" is a well known pub and restaurant located on Customs House Wharf in the Old Port section of Portland, Maine. The Wharf is also the home of the Harbor Fish Market, Seabags, and the Coastal Bait Company, which are also housed in old looking wharf buildings. What I liked about this scene is the contrast between the aged clapboards and boardwalk and the more modern looking automobiles and signage. The signs are painted using acrylic paint, with the remainder done in oil.
