Lady Marmalade

Lady Marmalade
24 x 30
2004 / #10
One of the things in life that annoys me is the food sample people in grocery stores. If I want to eat some unidentified clump of material from a mini plastic cup that resembles something found in a dentist office, then I will come to you. Don’t bother asking me if I want it. Most likely, I am in the process of hunting down the French fried onion bits, which are not located in a logical place. No onion bits, no green bean casserole and then we have to have peas again and how many peas can one eat? Unless you have mashed potatoes, what good are peas? Anyway…. I wanted to express my thoughts on this earth shattering issue so Lady Marmalade was called upon to represent the food samplers of America.
Now the image of Lady Marmalade is associated with the sexy prostitute of a popular song by the same name first done in the 70’s. She did not age too well and had to get a second job. She still considers herself a hot little number though and lets us know it. The guy in the background thinks so too. He is the man who seems to go from tray to tray throughout the store while his wife shops.
Today she is pushing orange marmalade. Take a closer look at the selections and decide if you would really want to try any of the things being offered.
