Michael Flicek
Michael is a psychologist and educational researcher whose latent passions for photography and travel reemerged simultaneously in the mid 2000’s. Travel provides a purpose for his photography; and, likewise, photography provides a purpose for his travels. His search for photographic subjects is influenced by an evolving thematic, project-based approach. Michael’s photographs have been selected for group exhibitions in venues across the United States. He’s had a number of solo exhibitions at galleries in his home base of Casper, Wyoming. Portfolios of his work have been published in COLOR Magazine, and in the Center of Fine Art Photography’s Portfolio Showcase Volume IV and Portfolio Showcase Volume V. Since 2015, Michael’s photographs have been included in the Nicolaysen Museum annual fundraising show and sale. Michael has photographs included in the Wyoming Governor’s Capitol Art Collection and in the collection of Bibliotheque nationale de France, in Paris. He’s earned recognition in numerous competitions including the Black and White Spider Awards, the International Photography Awards, Px3 Prix de la Photographie Paris, and the Worldwide Photography Gala. Michael is currently a Robert Anderson Gallery photographer on the Gallery’s website. Eight of Michael’s City Streets after Dark photographs appeared in the Summer Selections exhibition at the Robert Anderson Gallery in Denver.
