Leslie Broughton
Leslie has a B.F.A. with a concentration in painting from the University of New Mexico.  Her focus on landscapes began with plein-air watercolor painting in the Manzano Mountains northeast of Albuquerque.  After a spell in Arizona while working on an M.A. in Library and Information Science, she now lives in northern New Mexico in the town of Las Vegas, which is situated between Santa Fe and Taos, at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.   She is a past member of the local artist cooperative gallery and has participated in the Railyard Artisan Market in Santa Fe.  Leslie belongs to the Las Vegas Arts Council, owns Blue Mesa Gallery, and displays her artwork in the Las Vegas Riverwalk arts building.  Since 2017 her paintings have been shown in the annual New Mexico Painters’ Exhibition invitational on the campus of New Mexico Highlands University (NMHU).  In 2019 she had a solo exhibit in the Ray Drew Gallery at NMHU.
