Henry Madrid (El Henry) is a California-born artist with roots in a multiculturally rich Los Angeles cityscape. At an early age, he found solace and a personal empowering identity in art. However, his passion for art waned as other aspects of life soon took precedence. Despite his limited formal art training, El Henry’s artistic work complements his university academic attainment. El Henry hit an emotional curve in his journey as a widower. His grief found solace and expressive outlet in art once again. His creative activity encompassed poetry, short stories, playwriting, theater acting, colored pencil drawings, and paintings with acrylics. His art explores the depths of the human psyche, blending subconscious themes, psychedelic boldness, and abstract surrealism. His art shows his passion for nature, music, theater, and feminine allure. El Henry’s art has gained recognition. He was chosen for competitive open calls in Los Angeles and displayed at the Rod Briggs Art Gallery in Long Beach, Santa Fe Springs Arts Festival, highlighting his rising prominence. As a Long Beach Creative Group member, he anticipates further exhibitions to present his work. He views art as a profoundly individual yet collective means to delve into, encounter, and convey the elusive facets of life.
