Kaz Collins
Kaz Collins – An Artist Forged by Pain and Resilience I am a survivor! I have battled illness with severe chronic pain for over 30 years. I’ve traveled through an untreated Mast Cell Activation Disorder, Spine Cyst Surgery, Partial Sacrectomy, Ovarian Cancer, Coma, Small Bowel Volvulus, and 30 years of Lyme Disease. In site of these obstacles I have pursued a career as an artist. Step back into the untamed, defiant spirit of the Philly Punk 1980's era with prints of my artworks. Move forward into the meditative stance of the Covid era with vivid realistic portraits of animals and people. Custom portrait work available. An Artist Forged Through Street Level Experience 1980’s: Murals and Hand Painted Sneakers and Clothing for Zipperhead and East Side Club and The Crypt in Philadelphia 1989-2013: Tattooist in neighborhood shops, apprenticeship and learning from experienced tattooist teachers I created an art style of my own. 2022: Returning to my childhood roots of art lessons from my father, I began online classes from Bonny Snowdon and Dave Porter learning to produce realistic animal and human portraits in traditional fine art fashion.
