Cindy Compert
Based in Southern California, Cindy comes from a family of technologists, artists, and dreamers. Her dad was a design engineer who helped erect the first TV antenna superstructure on the Empire State Building and invented the ‘dogbell’ barking dog bell. Her mom was a technical illustrator who worked on the Lunar Rover project. Raised in New York, Cindy followed in both their footsteps. First, she had a successful career as a cybersecurity and privacy executive, culminating as Chief Technology Officer and Distinguished Engineer at IBM. Now, she is focusing full time on her professional art career as a landscape oil painter, traveling to and painting remote places, especially off-road America. Her work has been shown in galleries throughout Southern California including Randy Higbee Gallery, Debra Huse Gallery, and Las Lagunas, as well as exhibitions with the California Art Club, Laguna Plein Air Painters, and Redondo Beach Art Group. Cindy is proud to be listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for her participation in the 2010 Pasadena Chalk Art Festival, the world's largest chalk painting event. She has also received 3rd place in the 2007 Manhattan Beach Arts Festival and Honorable Mention in the Nassau County, NY Young Artists Exhibition. She is a Winston Scholar and University Honors Scholar who holds a BA in Art History and an MBA in Information Technology from New York University.
