Mixed media on a triple-primed canvas. This piece is enriched with several layers of varnish for a polished and lasting finish.
This mixed media piece celebrates the evolution of golf, inspired by vintage clubs and the 1891 standardisation of the 4.25-inch hole by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews.
The left-handed club, honouring Scottish golfer Robert MacIntyre, is crafted from clay-wrapped cardboard, while the ball is made of aluminium foil and clay. Real dried grass and hay form the textured green, preserved with acid-free glue and acrylics.
"1890 Leftie" bridges history and artistry, capturing the essence of Scotland's golfing legacy.
