Her System Is Completely Constipated… And It Is Everybody Else’s Crap (Or S**T)
40 x 30

My dear close friend Linda once again inspired this painting title. We meet once a month for lunch to catch up on life. This particular month, it was her turn to core dump her problems and issues. At one point, she sat back and sighed a big sigh and said…”ya know Judi, I just feel really constipated…” and I said right back without missing a beat…”yeah, and it is everybody else’s s**t too!” We looked at each other a second and burst out laughing. At some time or another in all of our lives, we have probably felt the same way.
This overworked office girl is at her ropes end. Notice the pepto-pink bottle on her desk (have to watch the copyright laws) and her bloated stomach. Look all around the painting to find things that have contributed to her constipated state of affairs: errands to be done, calls to return, papers to file, projects to do, and on and on and on. She does not wear shoes because one of them has a broken heel. The puppy has done some business of its own on the office floor and gotten into her wallet. Gifts need cared for before any more damage occurs and plants have long ago given up hope of being watered. The phone is overwhelmed and the days are slipping by.
Scattered throughout the painting are mice: a reference to the mouse on a computer. Those who know me well know that I do not like technology all that much. I make fun of it when I can. Don’t forget the clipboard hanging on the hook. As I have pointed out before, anyone who has a clipboard must be really important.
