Triplets

First painting in Triplets Series.
Oil on Canvas, 36" x 34"

ORIGINAL in private collection.
PRINTS available below.

"Triplets" is the first painting in my Triplets Series. The concept for this series is based on that feeling I get when I ride my horse, take a walk up to the highest spot on our farm and am in awe of the view, or just enjoy a quite moment in a favorite place of solace. In this painting I wanted to explore what it would be like to grow up with two sisters born at the same time with the same DNA, and how they could be similar but always their own unique selves. I have a sister three years older and we are very close, so this personal experience plays a part in how I envision what being a triplet would be like.

The three sisters are immersed in a spiritual connection with the natural world, and even though they all do share the same DNA, they are disconnected from each other, lost in their own thoughts, and react to their surroundings independently. The paintings are a moment in time when each sister experiences nature’s sacred power from her own perspective. It can be a joyful moment, one of total despair, or one of pure trivial musings. You’re invited to imagine what each sister is thinking through your own filter.
