This haunting oil painting of a mature chimpanzee was completed with oil on a primed 12"x12" canvas and is framed in museum quality mahogany and black frame.
The additional photos I have shared here show the start of the painting by doing an underpainting. Later color is added, and you see me as I complete the finished work. As with most of my wildlife subjects my concentration is on their eyes. In fact, when painting I start with the eyes. This gives me an introduction with whom I am working.
