Orangutan
This unique and colorful oil painting on primed 11"x14" stretched canvas is framed in a museum quality black and mahogany custom frame. I have added a few extra examples of how I started the painting and the addition of color as it progressed.
Orangutans are great apes native to the rainforests of Indonesia and Malaysia. They are now found only in parts of Borneo and Sumatra. Known for their distinctive red fur, orangutans are the largest arboreal mammal, spending most of their time in trees. Long, powerful arms and grasping hands and feet allow them to move through the branches. These great apes share 96.4% of our genes and are highly intelligent creatures.
