The heart of "JPK: The Pretender" beats with an unexpected narrative that ties past experiences to the present artwork. While creating, I stumbled upon a priceless “doodle” by my former boss, Dr. John Plutarch Karras, a brilliant history scholar and professor—affectionately dubbed JPK. A saved altered photocopy of the “Prima Porta Statue” of Augustus found its accidental way into my work, sparking a surge of inspiration drawn from nostalgia. JPK, was a formidable yet humorous figure who left quite an impaact, and his influence is sewn into the triptych's fabric.
