• The Water Tower and the Bridge

Acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas, signed in the lower right corner. Hanging hardware is included.

Inspired by Tom Fruin's Iconic Water Tower Sculpture

This original cityscape painting is inspired by one of my favorite neighborhoods in New York—a place where the industrial past meets the vibrant energy of the present. I’ve always been drawn to the iconic silhouettes of rooftop water towers, and in this piece, I wanted to capture the structural dialogue between the weathered wood of the tower and the massive steel cables of the bridge nearby.

Using my signature geometric and cubist-inspired style, I deconstructed the urban landscape into bold planes of color and light. Living in New York, these views were part of my daily life, and I wanted this painting to reflect that personal history. I focused on the contrast between the rigid architectural lines and the atmospheric sky, fitting the pieces together like a puzzle to showcase the unique "bones" of the city. For me, this work isn't just a view of New York; it’s a reflection of the rhythmic, structural beauty I found while walking the streets of a neighborhood that truly felt like home.
