Hillside Bloom

I am proud to present this new original art work, which captures the vibrant energy of a hillside meadow. This piece is particularly special to me as it is based on photos I took while strolling near my current home in Rhinebeck, NY.
While my landscape style is quite abstract—meaning you might be hard-pressed to find the exact physical spot where I stood—I worked to translate the feeling of that day onto the canvas. I used textured brushstrokes to emphasize the play of light across the colorful blooms and the sun-drenched hills. By contrasting these floral details with broad, expressive sweeps in the background, I’ve tried to achieve a peaceful, pastoral mood that feels alive with the spirit of the Hudson Valley.
