"Improv at Peacock Alley"

Original Mixed-Media abstract on birch wood. 14"h x 11"w. Media includes acrylic paints, paper, wire, yarn, plastic, & textured gels. Peacock Alley was a well-known jazz club in St. Louis, MO. Opened in 1944 (year of my birth). Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Max Roach, Art Blakey and others performed there. While creating this abstract artwork, I was strongly influenced by the complex mixtures of rhythms that became popular during the "Jazz Age".
