Cornerstone

Cornerstone is tribute to the skilled carpenters, masons, and iron workers who laid the foundation of America long ago. I have used many symbols in this piece. The 1935 buffalo nickel is yesterday's struggle for fair wages. The pearl is for today's outsourcing to China. The rusty pliers sound the Bald Eagle's final scream of our dying labor force.
