Under Tall Fall Trees

Standing at the base of these tall fall trees and looking up at their spiraling branches, I am enthralled by their scale and color. I am inspired to recreate this impression of the joys of the open air with strokes of buttery paint, bringing a pleasant feeling of sunlight and fall chill at the height of the season. Palette knife painting directly on the canvas, in combination with a brush, because combining heavy texture that only a knife can create with applied brush transparent paint gives my work a greater feeling of depth and creates an amazing visual effect. Painted on 3/4'' thick gallery wrapped canvas using highest quality artist oils. Painting continues around the sides making framing optional.
