Tethered

"Tethered" is an oil and cold wax painting that began with a drawing of basic shapes and some initial color notes. As often is the case, the decisions are made at the end of the brush or in this case a Speedball brayer, palette knife, paint scraper and squeegee. The idea of interwoven is from James Rosenquist's painting "Horse Blinders" that has a conduit open with its multi-colored wired spilling out. This reminded me of rope or twine which is used to tether things.

The painting is finished on the sides, signed on the reverse and included hanging hardware.
